Before growing into a new area a company should use different ways to learn a lot about it. Some ways use numbers and data like surveys and looking at who lives there. Surveys help know what people like, buy, and know about the brand. Looking at who lives there help understand the people.

Other ways go deep into understanding like talking in groups, interviews, and watching what happens. Talking in groups can show what people really think, including cultural stuff and what they need.

Also check out the other companies already there how they work, and where there might be space for the company. Seeing thing in the shops or watching them in person gives a real feel of the market.
