Bitdau is a scam crypto platform that claims to offer trading services but is set up as a front for fraudsters to steal your money.
Users are encouraged to invest on the platform which purports to be a crypto exchange, but any money deposited is stolen.
Some victims who’ve lost money say they were approached via social media and encouraged to set up an account on the platform and start trading.
What gives Bitdau away as a scam?
There are a lot of problems with this platform which, when added together, make it clear this is definitely a scam site and not legit at all.
Some of the issues are:
- A relatively new domain name despite a statement on the platform that claims it’s been trading for years.
- No social media presence or companion apps.
- Passages of garbled text which are probably scraped from other sites.
- No company information or team bio section.
- No legal documents or declarations which accompany legitimate crypto exchanges.
- Spurious claims that the platform is partnered with a number of big names in the crypto world which it’s not.
- Many links not working throughout the site.
- The whole look and feel of the site isn’t right for a legitimate platform.
I’ve been scammed by Bitdau – is there any chance of getting my money back?
It’s very unlikely, but you should report what’s happened in case the authorities manage to trace the scammers and recover any stolen funds.
There are private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
