Cex.io is an advance multi functional exchange for cryptocurrencies. As one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchange out there, Cex.io offers buying, selling and trading of digital currencies like Bitcoin and altcoins.
Cex.io started it service far back 2013 as the first cloud minning provider but ended it cloud minning service in 2015 to become a cryptocurrency exchange. Cex.io is an exchange company situated in London, United Kindom and has really grown over the years with user base of over two million traders and an average daily trading volume of over 1000 BTC.
Cex.io is centralized exchange that's KYC/AML complaint, you are required to undergo verification in order to be able to utilize the exchange fully.
Pros:
1. Security: They have not been any event of hack throughout the history of the exchange and all user fund are stored in a cold wallet. Cex.io also support two factor authentication and all transactions are handled via secure HTTPS connection.
2. Easy To Use: Getting started buying and selling cryptocurrency on this exchange is designed to be easy and straight forward.
3. Familiar Interface: This exchange has an interface similar to other exchanges, nice and easy to use but it's not very responsible and can be a bit difficult to use on mobile.
4. Support Major Cryptocurrencies: Cex.io support buying, selling and trading of all major cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH etc.
5. Multiple Deposit Option: You can purchase cryptocurrencies by depositing using Visa/MasterCard or direct Bank transfer.
6. Cross Platform: You can trade easily on Cex.io using it website or mobile client app, it even support Websocket and REST API, meaning as a developer you can easily build upon it or integrate it into your existing tooling.
7. Low Transaction Fees: Cex.io offers a competitive transaction fee based on user's 30day trading volume for all trading pairs. Maker fee ranges from 0% to 0.16% and takers fee ranging from 0.10% to 0.25%.
Cons:
1. Only support buying, selling and trading of few coins/tokens.
2. According to reports, customer service is a bit lacking and can be greatly improved.
Cex.io also has an affliate system whereby when someone register using your referral, you receive 30% commission paid from the fee of their exchange transaction. In my own opinion, this is a very good commission rate when compared with what other exchange offer.
Cex.io looks like a very legit exchange but based on my research i notice alot of negative reviews mostly related to withdrawal. I just advice anyone wishing to try them to properly read their terms and conditions and also only deposit little amount you can afford to lose for a start.
