Coin Farming Shares is a fake cryptocurrency investing platform that offers unrealistically high returns and is operated in a similar way to a pig butchering scam.
Using coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, Coin Farming Shares claims to offer even the most basic investor an 8.5% daily return on their investment (ROI) over a period of 10 days, on top of a $250 signing bonus.
This figure leaps to 35% daily ROI for those with $100,000 or more to invest in the ‘classic trader’ plan.
The incredible returns on offer is an immediate red flag and should give would-be investors a clear indication that not all is what it seems.
The person who contacted PawProfitForum Team regarding this platform said they’d responded to a random WhatsApp message they received before the sender struck up a relationship with them.
A few weeks later the conversation turned to cryptocurrency investing and the victim’s new ‘friend’ told them about Coin Farming Shares.
The victim invested a significant amount of money, but when they came to withdraw their cash and profit they were told they needed to pay a large fee to do so, which they did.
However, no funds were forthcoming and the scammers then demanded further fees to release the cash.
Ultimately the aim of scams like Coin Farming Shares is to fleece as much money as possible out of victims before they’re shut down.
Tell-tale signs that Coin Farming Shares in a scam
As fake crypto investment websites go, Coin Farming Shares is one of the better designed.
However, there are still many things that give it away, including:
- As mentioned the unfeasibly high returns on offer, with no explanation as to how these are achieved.
- The site hosts a fake US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ‘certificate of trade’, claiming the company was set up in 2010. No company named Coin Farming Shares is registered with the SEC.
- The domain name is very new and registered in 2023 – odd for a company that claims to be much older than this.
- The contact address given on the website does not in any way relate to a company named Coin Farming Shares.
- The website has a Domain Authority (DA) ranking of 1 meaning it has no inbound links. This would not be the case for a company that claims to have as many users as Coin Farming Shares does.
- There are no social media accounts associated with the site, nor apps. Reputable investment companies would have all of these things.
- There is no content of any substance on the website. Genuine crypto platforms would have pages of investment information and details about fees.
Reporting a scam to the authorities should be the first thing you do, but getting money back from scammers is incredibly difficult.
There are also private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
