⍰ ASK Do you follow seasonal makeup trends?

I’ll be real with you—seasonal makeup trends? They’ve always grabbed my attention, but you will not catch me rearranging my entire routine every three months just because someone on Instagram dropped a new “must-have” palette. Still, gotta admit there’s something kinda thrilling about the parade of new colors and textures each season. Spring’s all glowy cheeks and soft, almost edible pastels. Summer comes strutting in with loud corals and electric blues, then fall’s like, “Hey, slow down,” and hits you with cinnamon and burnt orange vibes. Winter? All about that moody, dramatic drama—think plum lips and smoky eyes you’d wear to a haunted poetry night.

And, honestly, I love how makeup brands keep remixing the classics to fit the current mood—sometimes it actually makes me want to shake up my usual game. But here’s the thing: trends are fun, but I’ve learned the hard way, nobody wants to look like they lost a fight with Pinterest just because it’s July. If I see a peach blush blowing up in August, sure, I’ll probably mess around with it, but forcing something that doesn’t flatter me? Nope. Been there. Looked weird. Lesson learned.

Most of the time, I just cherry-pick the bits I actually vibe with—maybe I’ll try that neon liner everyone’s raving about, but you will not see me buying every single “hot new product” just to be “in the loop.” Spoiler: my bank account says thanks. Instead of gutting my whole makeup bag every season, I might add one or two bold things—a killer metallic shadow, or maybe a ridiculous-over-the-top gloss—and mix them up with my OG favorites.

The best part? Trends give you permission to play, honestly. No pressure, just experimenting for the heck of it. Makeup isn’t paint-by-numbers; it’s more like finger painting on a Wednesday night when you’re a little bit bored. So yeah, it changes with the seasons—and with my barely-caffeinated brain.

What about you? Do you cannonball into every trend, or keep your old classics on repeat no matter what TikTok’s shouting about?
