GTCcdsvvweas (yes, that is correct) – is another fake cryptocurrency exchange and trading platform that’s appeared on the scene.
Standing for ‘Global Trade Centre’, GTC claims to be one of the oldest active cryptocurrency exchanges in existence, having operated since 2012.
Strange then that the domain name was only registered in February 2023.
It’s these kind of bold claims that give fake crypto platforms away, especially when domain registration information is publicly available and easily accessible.
The person who contacted us about GTC said that they’d deposited money onto the platform after being persuaded to invest by someone they’d met on social media.
However, they’ve since been unable to access their funds or secure their return.
Is GTCcdsvvweas a scam?
Yes, without doubt this is a scam platform and there are numerous things that give it away, aside from the fake claims and new domain name.
They include:
- App buttons that lead nowhere, ie no app for the platform exists – not something you’d expect from a legitimate crypto platform.
- Zero information about the alleged company or people behind the platform.
- Hardly any content on the site, and what does exist is littered with spelling and grammatical errors.
- Aside from a few rudimentary trading charts, there is little functionality to the site.
- No reviews online from users, aside from reports that the site is a scam.
Don’t send any money to this platform and block anyone who tries to encourage you to invest in it.
I’ve been scammed by GTCcdsvvweas, can I get my money back?
It’s unlikely, but you should still report what’s happened to the authorities in case they manage to catch the culprits.
This is difficult to do, but there are companies that might be able to help that I’ve written about here.
Also, make sure you report the scam to the authorities in your country.
