Tradeprogression is a fake trading platform which is used as part of an elaborate scam to fleece unsuspecting investors out of their money and crypto.
It claims to offer some 12,000 trading instruments, including Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, but in reality is a shell website designed to resemble a genuine platform.
Victims of the tradeprogression scam have been contacted via social media and befriended before being told of an investment opportunity.
Once they’ve put money in they’ll see their profits start to rise but as soon as they try to withdraw their funds the problems start.
They are given an arbitrary reason as to why the funds can’t be returned and told they need to pay some form of ‘tax’ or ‘commission’.
However, if they hand over this extra money, the scammers will only demand further payments and at no time will any of the victim’s cash be returned.
Tradeprogression red flags
There are lots of things wrong with this platform which makes the scam easy to spot.
They include:
- Some content is well-written and clearly lifted from other platforms, but the parts that aren’t are full of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.
- There are many broken links and missing images across the website.
- The address given in Bournemouth, England, is a residential address, not a business premises.
- The Companies House number stated on the platform is for a company of a different name that has already been dissolved.
- There are no social media channels associated with the site – something that all reputable companies would have.
- Tradeprogression doesn’t have any trading apps – again something that all platforms of this nature supply.
- The testimonials feature images that are clearly either model photos or taken from other websites.
- There is no company information, or details about the team behind the platform.
- The platform has the lowest possible Domain Authority (DA) rating of 1.
Tradeprogression, like many other crypto scams, is a cookie-cutter website that’s been designed to last a few months before being shut down.
This makes it very difficult to track the culprits behind this scam, but if you’ve been scammed by Tradeprogression you should still report what’s happened to the authorities.
There are also private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.
