⍰ ASK What’s your current skincare routine?

Skincare routines,… honestly, they’re basically one big gamble half the time. I used to be totally suckered in by every flashy bottle and internet “miracle” — spoiler: most of them were a total letdown. At this point, I’ve figured out that just keeping it chill and doing the same thing works way better for my pain-in-the-butt, sensitive skin than jumping at every shiny new trend.

So, what’s my deal? I kick things off with a cleanser that’s actually gentle, like, doesn’t strip my face like it’s paint thinner. Used harsher stuff in the past, thinking squeaky clean meant “good.” Yeah… my skin disagreed. These days, if it burns or tightens, I’m out.

Moisturizer is non-negotiable. I’ll be real — for the longest time, I skipped it thinking my borderline-oily skin would just self-moisturize, like a lizard or something. Nope! I use a lighter one in the summer, thicker stuff when it’s cold because my face will straight up flake off otherwise. Ah, and sunscreen — talk about adulting. I slap it on every morning, rain, snow, or zombie apocalypse. On days I forget, I swear I can actually see my skin plotting revenge with extra dullness or random breakouts.

Once in a while, if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll toss in some vitamin C or something with hyaluronic acid, but honestly, I don’t go wild with serums. Learned that the hard way — too many actives, and my face went full drama queen. Exfoliation? Once a week, max. Past me was basically sandpapering my skin and wondering why it hated me. Lesson learned.

Tbh, it’s just constant trial and error. My bathroom cabinet? Graveyard of overhyped bottles. But hey, now I finally get that good skin isn’t about the fanciest products — it’s waiting it out and actually listening to what your face wants. Anyway, what’s your holy grail product or weird routine tweak that finally worked for you? Because I’ll try just about anything at least once. Well, maybe not snail slime. Still not sure I’m there yet.
