Good day.
Please tell me what is the best thing to mine on a GTX 1060 6gb? (besides Zcash and Ethereum)
I am interested in what is easier to mine and accumulate.
If you're using a GTX 1060 6GB and looking for something easier to mine and accumulate besides Zcash and Ethereum, I’d focus on coins that have low network difficulty and are still ASIC-resistant. Personally, I’d look into:
1. Ravencoin (RVN): It runs on the KawPow algorithm, which is GPU-friendly and quite manageable on mid-tier cards like the GTX 1060. It's been a favorite for 1060 miners due to its fair balance between profitability and accessibility.
2. Ergo (ERG): This coin uses the Autolykos algorithm and is known for being memory-intensive but light on power consumption. I've found it attractive for long-term holding and relatively easy to accumulate during dips in difficulty.
3. Flux (FLUX): While a bit more demanding, it's still a decent option. The coin is focused on decentralized cloud infrastructure, and I see potential in holding it for the future.
I wouldn’t expect massive profits, but I’d rather focus on coins with actual tech or community backing that I can accumulate in small amounts and hold. Of course, I also monitor mining calculators like WhatToMine regularly to see which coins are yielding best returns based on power cost and difficulty fluctuations.
I think that the Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB is a very old GPU, but still can mine some cryptocurrencies effectively. It is no longer able to mine Ethereum as the network has changed to proof-of-stake but it is still good for the coins with GPU-friendly algorithms.
Ravencoin that is the one using the KawPow algorithm is a good one because it is the most compatible with the old graphics cards. Ethereum Classic which utilizes the Etchash algorithm is also a go-to option.
Other options are Beam with its Equihash based algorithm and Ergo which has Autolykos. Such coins might not have a high difficulty and therefore the GTX 1060 will be able to reach the moderate hash rate needed. Although the earnings from this card alone would be quite small, it perfectly suits the needs of those who want to start small or learn the ropes of crypto mining without investing heavily.
